Elizabeth Gunn, PhD
01 ABOUT
Educator|Runner|Writer
I am a dynamic scholar and collaborative administrator focused on empowering women and minorities by effecting systemic change at administrative and policy levels in higher education.
I bring two decades of articulating and bridging vision among diverse stakeholders. This is inclusive of resource allocation, fiscal decisions, and responsible and detailed management.
With 20 years of experience improving students' lives, I am concerned with the infrastructure of an institution that serves a diverse campus community in its broadest context.
My administrative focus centers on a university's academic excellence in the business, financial management, arts, humanities, intercultural communication, creative enterprises, and sense of community. With a global perspective, I am enthusiastic about international partnerships, professional development for faculty, administration, and support staff, as well as student-centered engagement.
My peers have often noted my transparent and encouraging leadership style. They highlight my talent for inspiring others. By listening with intentionality, I am committed to empowering stakeholders across the institution.
In the spirit of work/life balance, I am an avid runner and have completed 9 marathons, 28 half marathons, 1 full and 3 half Ironmans, and hundreds of other smaller events around the country and around the world.
Also, as an aspiring novelist, I've tried my hand at a few creative works, and I take amateur photographs from time to time. The images scrolling on the travel page capture moments from my trips around the United States, Peru, Cuba, South Korea, Hungary, China, Panama, Mexico, Dominican Republic, Spain, Portugal, Puerto Rico, and Costa Rica.
